Yolan Eke

Yolan’s highly textured art is predominantly achieved using oils­­­ applied with a palette knife. She paints intuitively expressing her optimism and love of light, texture and colour. She employs abstract expressionism rather than true representation through loose, free flowing movement. The origin of many of her ideas can be traced to the natural beauty of the world around her- life in Spain before recently returning to the Gold Coast hinterland where she is currently based, as well as the natural beauty of New Zealand where she lived for many years .  

Yolan paints with a desire to evoke in the viewer a sense of what is to come, of memories yet to be made. To make a connection with a collector and inspire and awaken their imagination through her artwork is the greatest honour Yolan could have.
