Susannah Bond
Susannah Bond is a Melbourne-based artist whose work is inspired by her love of the coast. Escaping to the surf whenever possible, she draws inspiration from the ocean, endless beaches and rugged landscapes that lead to the water.
Working with oil paint and cold wax, Susannah explores depth through layers of colour and texture. Her intuitive process allows her to experiment with subtle shifts in shade and tone, creating atmospheric works that reflect the beauty and energy of the coastal landscape.
Most of my paintings are evocative of a memory and through layers and adventurous use of colour and colour harmony I find huge excitement as each painting is transformed. Inspired by 20th Century artists such as Henri Matisse, Nicolas de Stael and Bernard Cathelin I am enjoying new challenges as my journey unfolds.
