Sydney based artist, Georgia McFarland creates beautiful paintings inspired by her life growing up by the water on the Northern Beaches, vintage furniture and plants.
Georgia always had a love of art making that started as soon as she could hold a pen and stuck through her whole life. Exploring many art styles and forms, her work has recently refined to the current style of painting she does today, working with acrylics, paper and canvas and playing with layering and colours.
The key theme of Georgia’s work aims to convey her perspective of the world around her through a unique lens with a style that mixes simple shapes, bold colours as well as neutral textures to create an abstract, cartoonish style. Georgia currently studies a Bachelor of Psychology and Cognitive Brain Sciences. This has brought her a particular fascination with perception of surroundings, colour and the brain, a big part of what she aims to integrate into her creative process.
