Alice Tilley

Living and working full time from my studio on a cropping and sheep farm near SA’s Barossa Valley, my day-to-day domestic life at home and in the garden, along with my immediate rural and agricultural environs are my main sources of inspiration. Ultimately I am seeking to reflect the essence and beauty of a moment or place, thus forging a meaningful, genuine and timeless connection. Painting predominately in oil paint, my still life work is typically semi-realist and figurative, characterised by lively brush strokes and the dramatic play between light, shape and colour. Meanwhile my landscape paintings are looser, playful and expressive interpretations often incorporating mixed media elements. I thrive on the creative process of painting, always striving to play and experiment while I attempt to realise my vision together with my thoughts, emotions and experiences.
