About the Artist
Mary Winkels is a Brisbane-based artist whose oil paintings capture the quiet poetry of domestic and family life through a nostalgic, softly maximalist lens. Influenced by Impressionist light and vintage aesthetics, her work reflects on motherhood, memory, play, and the beauty found in everyday moments. With a background in public health and aged care, Mary brings a contemplative sensitivity to her practice, shaped by stories of what people most cherish in life. She has trained at the Julian Ashton Art School and the Victorian Artists Society.
