About the Artwork:
We built the concrete bench in my studio ourselves and I'm really enjoying setting up still lifes using it as a backdrop. I was going to put more detail in the bench and then loved the way the brushstrokes mimicked the concrete so I stopped before I overworked it.
About the Artist:
Simone Hale paints intimate still lifes and everyday scenes with a focus on light, texture and quiet domestic moments. Her oil paintings bring warmth and attention to familiar objects, gardens and rural life.
This piece will be available to purchase in person at the Sydney Affordable Art Fair November 5-8, 2026. Works will be made available online from 12noon Sunday November 8.
