About the Artist
Siina McCallum is a Finnish-born artist based in Yuin Country on the South Coast of New South Wales. Her practice moves between still-life and abstract landscape, exploring the emotional and intuitive connection between humans and the natural world. Through layered brushwork and instinctive use of colour and composition, Siina evokes the moods and memories connected to place.
Guided by feeling rather than form, her practice is rooted in presence—dropping from thought into the body, allowing the work to emerge from a place of deep connection. Childhood summers spent in the Finnish archipelago continue to shape her relationship with place, inspiring a reverence for quiet, atmospheric spaces.
Siina holds a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology from Macquarie University, bringing a reflective and relational perspective to her art. She continues to expand her visual language through ongoing study, off- and online.
