This painting continues a series in which a solitary magpie sits on the horizon, looking out and contemplating the vast landscape before it. I've placed Maggie as a quiet presence within an expansive, minimalist setting. The landscape could be anywhere, imagined through a rich palette of deep reds, warm bronzes and earthy tones.

About the Artist:

Paula is a self taught artist with a BA in Visual Arts from Monash University and a background as a creative in the corporate world. Working from her home studio in Naarm (Melbourne), she paints vibrant still lifes, Australian landscapes and depictions of native flora and fauna – drawing inspiration from the natural beauty of both the Australian red centre and coast. Her bold acrylic works are known for their strong compositions and bright, contrasting palettes.
