Original Artwork

45 x 50cm | Acrylic on Masonite board | Framed in oak | Ready to hang

About the Artwork:

This work celebrates the quiet confidence of solitude. Rather than loneliness, the figure embodies a moment of pause—comfortable in his own company and immersed in the everyday. Through expressive brushwork and simplified forms, the artist invites viewers to reflect on the value of stillness, observation and the stories we each carry.

About the Artist:

Nicholas Osmond is an Australian painter whose work explores identity, history, and life in regional Australia. Raised in rural New South Wales, Osmond began painting later in life following a period of injury, developing a distinctive, intuitive style grounded in colour and emotion. His semi-abstract works often depict Australian characters and narratives, with a particular focus on the bush and Aboriginal history. Influenced by artists such as Sidney Nolan and Paul Gauguin, Osmond has built a dedicated following through his expressive and deeply personal approach to painting.
