Original Artwork
123 x 153cm | Acrylic & oil on canvas, Gamvar matte varnish | Framed in flooded gum | Ready to hang
About the Artwork:
There's a stretch of country on the way south where the paddocks open right up and the horizon seems to go on forever. I wanted to paint the feeling of that drive: the posts ticking past, trees standing in loose groups across the flat, and that sense of being somewhere between where you've been and where you're going.
About the Artist:
Madeleine McKinlay paints the Australian landscape with a loose, expressive approach that celebrates open space, changing light and the character of country places. Her layered works balance bold colour with a strong sense of atmosphere and place.
