About the Artwork:
This work is inspired by my surroundings and nature, an abstract background, full of beautiful brush strokes using impressionists techniques, an ethereal work. The work is then transformed with an additional layer of micro mark making, a modern form of pointillism, using color, light and repetition to create a veil over the layers below, resulting in a rhythmic work that I find meditative and calming.
About the Artist:
Karen Goddard is a Gold Coast artist known for colourful, impressionistic works inspired by florals, landscape and the natural world. Her paintings balance expressive brushwork with intricate mark-making to create layered, atmospheric surfaces.
This piece will be available to purchase in person at the Sydney Affordable Art Fair November 5-8, 2026. Works will be made available online from 12noon Sunday November 8.
