About the Artist:
Jade Whelan is a self-taught artist living and working in Canberra, Australia. Jade rearranges lines and shapes to build vibrant, abstract landscapes and still lifes. She uses colour instinctively, often colour-mixing as she works. Her approach is spontaneous and unplanned. Usually made in one sitting, her paintings result from inner feelings from a moment. Jade is a highly commended winner of The Next Big Thing 2024. She was also a recent finalist in the 2024 Fisher’s Ghost Art Award and Blacktown City Art Prize. Her paintings have been exhibited at the Aspire Gallery in Brisbane and the Aarwun Gallery in Canberra.

About the Artist
Jade Whelan is a Canberra-based artist. Her practice is rooted in abstract expressionism and driven by the emotional power of colour. She works instinctively, using spontaneous gestures to express what her words often can’t. Most pieces are completed in a single sitting, capturing the intensity of a moment before it fades.
