Original Artwork

63 x 83cm | Oil and Acrylic on canvas | Framed in an oak float frame.

About the Artwork:

When I see a flower still life, my mind starts asking questions. I wonder who picked these flowers, why did the person chose these flowers, are there anything the painter wants the viewer to think about, when painting a certain type of flower?

About the Artist:

Gugge paints expressive floral still life and her colors are vibrant and bright. There is a great sense of life and inner wilderness in her way of painting.

Gugge was born into an artist family, both parents Danish painters and started her creative journey as a child. She has always painted and had exhibitions together with her parents already from the age of 14.

Alongside her art, Gugge has a master’s degree in English Literature and Art History from the University of Copenhagen. Gugge spent a year Switzerland and Austria as well in 2006.

After spending 17 years in the UK, doing art courses at Central St Martins in London, St. Andrew’s Art School and New School of Art in East Sussex, Gugge moved back to her native Denmark. She is now living with her family in a lovely rural setting by a lake surrounded by lots of greenery, flowers and trees, nature being a constant inspiration in her work.

Gugge paints expressive floral still life and her colors are vibrant and bright. There is a great sense of life and inner wilderness in her way of painting. Alongside oil painting, Gugge also works with collage and ceramics. Her work is represented in different well renowned galleries.
