About the Artist
Emma Petterson is a self-taught watercolour artist from Sydney Australia. She paints out of her home studio where she loves exploring colours, granulation, and a wide range of subject matter. She first started using watercolours to lessen feelings of anxiety. She finds the unpredictable nature of watercolours to be therapeutic as it reflects the uncontrollable world around us. Her art is a way to express peace, joy, and her vibrant spirit.
A principal theme in her art are Australian native botanicals. She loves painting interiors and parts of the home that hold so many memories and special moments for people. She finds inspiration from personal treasures, objects, nature and delicious sweet treats!
When Emma isn’t painting, she is an Early Childhood teacher. She is currently studying for her master’s Degree in Special Education.
