About the Artist
Belinda is a self-taught, Perth based artist working primarily in acrylics. Raised in the Wheatbelt region of Western Australia, a love of nature led to a career in environmental science with a focus on the botanical world. The familiar story of travel, work, marriage and motherhood played out before the inevitable realisation that time is not infinite finally placed a paintbrush in her hand.
Belinda's passion for Australian flora and an interest in the sentimentality placed on objects, both inherited and collected, appear often as subject material. Her paintings often portray a sense of melancholy or sometimes whimsy, but always with the common thread of time passing. To be both familiar and different is the ultimate aim.
