About the Artwork:

The painting shows a group of young boys fishing off Adder Rock on North Stradbroke Island. It is late in the afternoon and the western sun silhouettes the boys and and creates the hazy horizon and shimmering water

About the Artist:

I began painting as a teenager but had a 30 year hiatus due to work and family commitments. In the past five years I have picked up a brush again and have been mainly painting portraits and pets for family and friends.

About the Artist

Andrew is an Australian artist specialising in high quality oil paintings.
He took art lessons while studying medicine at Monash University and for many years has painted portraits and pets mainly for family members. In 2022 he began painting professionally and he is represented by The Toowoomba Gallery. He has sold paintings at numerous art shows and has received awards at the Brookfield Art Show. Andrew’s love for sport is evident in his subjects with tennis, cricket and football series showcasing the form and movement in action sporting scenes. He also loves the beach and sailing but his range of subjects are broad and diverse as he is always looking for something new and challenging. Andrew lives and paints in the semirural suburb of Brookfield which provides a calm and relaxing place to paint.
