About the Artwork:

Painted from a photo taken by my father, John Smith, in the late 1960's. John was captain of the Hawthorn East Melbourne Cricket Club who shared the ground with the Hawthorn AFL team. Part of my childhood included running around the empty stands of Glenferrie oval while John fulfilled his duties as a selector for the club after he retired.

About the Artist:

Andrew is an Australian artist specialising in high quality oil paintings. His love for sport is evident in his subjects with tennis, cricket and football series showcasing the form and movement in action sporting scenes. He also loves the beach and sailing but his range of subjects are broad and diverse.
