Peaceful Day is part of a mini art series. This painting is part of the beautiful view from my sister’s home. The view is picturesque whichever way you look! It’s a delightful mini landscape artwork and I love it here on a pile of books with its face towards the light. Like it’s smiling. What may seem as the 'simple' landscapes like this are often my favourite. They hold a sweet memory of place and time that tells a story you want to hold on to. Like a photograph but better! It captures the light on the hill and the way the sky was moving at the time. A capture of time. Yes. Time standing still.

Rachel Prince finds inspiration in the natural landscapes she returns to time and again, from the granite outcrops of Girraween National Park and the coastal beauty of Yuraygir to the changing light viewed from her own veranda.
