Jayde Chandler
Jayde Chandler is a self-taught, contemporary landscape artist residing in outback Queensland with her husband and four children on their family owned sheep and cattle station. A fourth generation grazier, Jayde’s journey into full time art began as a deep desire to express what feels like a genetic connection to the land.
Keen observation of her emotional response to varying seasonal conditions influence her work as she aims to capture the evolution of the countryside from harshness of drought, to hope of regeneration, to joy of prosperity.
Using acrylics mixed with impasto, Jayde uses both palette knife and brush to create highly textural and multilayered works that embrace imperfections. Her creative endeavours allow Jayde to document her landscape and share with her collectors the place that she has lived in and loved all of her life.
