About the Artwork:
I moved from a city to a more rural setting here in Western Sydney, one of the changes I encountered that wasn't really seen in a more urban setting was the hazard reduction burns of grass and farmland. At first I found seeing this confronting, but then I became more aware of the importance of the process and what it does for humans and also for animals and plants in the broader scheme of things. I realised there was a strange beauty to that process, it is a way of living more in tune with the land around us, I like seeing people living more in tune with nature where they can.
