About the Artwork:
This work maps the complex architecture of safety, inheritance, and the invisible threads that tie us to the women who came before. By splitting the canvas, I wanted to contrast the rigid, structured grid of personal history with the lived reality of the landscape below. The magpie acts as the messenger between these two worlds, carrying the heavy symbols of security and protection, the key, the star, the watchful eye, on a single red string. It is a visual confession of what it means to inherit both the boundaries meant to keep us safe and the wild, open sky required to truly breathe.

Blending surrealism with a hint of expressionism, her practice explores the emotional gravity of motherhood and the lingering weight of childhood. Her pieces meditate on the quiet exhaustion of a maternal line, capturing the beautiful tension between the obligation to remain present and the persistent, quiet urge to drift.
