Original Artwork
125 x 94cm | Oil on canvas | Framed in oak | Ready to hang
About the Artwork:
This larger scale work is in oil on canvas, an ode to my tropical surroundings and night skies in Queensland. Bold colours and mark making using impressionistic techniques are overlaid with the innate shapes of the banksia and protea flowers, an obsession with macro and micro pointillism and mark making take this work into a new dimension, creating a veil of organic marks changing the landscape below completely and leading the viewer into the spaces in between to find their own narrative.
About the Artist:
Karen Goddard is a Gold Coast artist known for colourful, impressionistic works inspired by florals, landscape and the natural world. Her paintings balance expressive brushwork with intricate mark-making to create layered, atmospheric surfaces.
