About the Artist
I am Freda Cheung and I'm a Melbourne based leather crafter. I used to work at a place where they sell leather furniture and have lots of leather scraps that they didn't need. I took them home and learned to make leather by myself. I made a few leather purses and wallets etc, however I wanted to make something a lot more unique that no one has made before.
I have always been fascinated by sea creatures and wanted to bring them from the ocean to the ground. Therefore I have started making leather sea creatures in late 2016. My brand "freda made" was made in 2017 and I have since been selling my craft on Etsy. I have also won “Frankie good stuff award” - Craft category in 2017 which is my proudest achievement so far.
