I am an amateur photographer who since moving to Toowoomba in 2005 has been able to spend more time developing my craft. Raised and educated in Devonport, Tasmania it was at High School where I was introduced photography and 35mm film cameras. My first camera was Canon Ftb 35mm, which serviced me well for many years. I was fortunate enough to have two younger sisters who quickly outgrew a playhouse that our Father built. This was to become my darkroom where I spent many hours processing black and white prints from the photographs taken locally. So began my life-long passion of photography and especially black and white prints.

Moved to Hobart serval years later where I studied photography parttime whilst working as the laboratory technician at the Hobart TAFE college. It was here I was introduced to processing colour film and prints as well as black and white photographs for clients, staff, students and the School. This was to prove a great foundation for my career as a photographer.

Since moving to Toowoomba and my work I have been able to explore and photograph amazing landscapes, whilst also venturing into the City of Brisbane for city scapes, architecture, urban views and street photography.

However, it is in Tasmania where I able to get back to my roots of black and white landscapes. My parents live in the foothills of Mt Roland, North West Tasmania and this area provides me with a great deal of inspiration and my photos of the countryside have inspired many moody black and white prints of this area.

For me photography has always been my form of meditation. I can remove myself from the past and future and photography allows me to purely focus on the present and what I see through the view finder.
