I was drawn to this sense of quiet vigilance, and I wanted to honour it through expressive, layered brushwork that mirrors the breed’s internal energy. Cool purples and blues shape the form of the dog, softened with warm beige tones, while a bright yellow backdrop evokes the first light of sunrise—hopeful, vast and alive with possibility. The contrast between calm body and alert mind is where the painting breathes.
